Winter Landscapes
My winter work explores stillness, resilience and the quiet structures that emerge when the world slows down.
As someone who grew up in Jamaica, I’ll admit the cold, dark Vermont days don’t come naturally to me- Im drawn to sunshine and warmth. But my art and particularly the carbon printing process has become my way of embracing what this landscape offers; the stark beauty of fallen branches against snow, ice-laced streams, and the dense, silent woods. these images are my practice in finding grace in the season I once resisted.
Each print is offered as limited carbon prints – a process prized for its rich blacks, luminous hi lights and archival permanence. The slow deliberate craft of carbon printing mirrors the patience winter demands. In making these prints, I honor both the landscape and the moments I’ve learned to witness, even on the coldest days.
